ASSISI TEACHING & LEARNING

Welcome to 2025.
I hope that all St Anthony’s families had a wonderful relaxing and rejuvenating break over Christmas and the New Year.

As we begin another school year I am reminded of a quote from Malcolm Forbes “Education’s purpose is to replace an empty mind with an open one”. No matter your background, one of the benefits of obtaining an education will be that it will open your mind to new perspectives.

SEMESTER ONE ASSESSMENT CALENDARS
All Year 7-12 Assessment Calendars for Semester 1 will be available on the College website from the beginning of week 3. http://www.sacc.catholic.edu.au/curriculum/assessment/
YEAR 11 & 12.
Students are reminded to access their Learning Summary on the myQCE platform on the QCAA website: https://www.qcaa.qld.edu.au/. It is vital that students check subject enrolments and personal details attached to their Learning Account to ensure that the QCAA have the correct information. If any subject information is incorrect the College needs to be informed so that changes can be made. If personal details are incorrect or have changed (e.g., address), a parent may need to confirm the change.

SUBJECT CHANGES.
Year 9 and 10 students may only apply for elective subject changes and have until Friday 31st January to do so. Students were informed of this date in notices this week.

Year 11 students may apply for subject changes for Unit 1 until Friday 7 th February. If students are undertaking an external course (TAFE, Traineeship/Apprenticeship) they may apply to drop a subject. They cannot drop their Religion, English or Maths subject.

No subject changes can be made after these dates. It is important that students settle into their classes and a learning routine

When considering a subject change, remember

  • Some classes are at capacity so a subject change may not be possible.
  • Change requests must be made on curriculum grounds only; not based on a student or parent request for a change of teacher.
I look forward to working with parents and students journey together to achieve our best in 2025.

Embrace Learning,
