ASSISI CAMPUS NEWS
Welcome back to Term Two and I trust you had a break either from the school routine or even time away from your work. As we have heard since the start of the week, we keep in mind the loss of Pope Francis and the amazing legacy he leaves behind for the Catholic Church. We hope his leadership will continue.
At the end of last term our Year 7 students went to Camp down in Proserpine. Unfortunately the weather did not work in our favour and they had to return a day early. We thank all the families for your patience with this change to the schedule. I am glad it went straight into the holidays for them. Our Year 8 Boys and Girls Basketball team competed in the TSSS Gala Day. The girls played their hearts out and after a rough start the boys found their rhythm and made it all the way to the finals which was an incredible achievement. Unfortunately they could not take the top spot.
Over the holidays we had a group of students travel down to Canberra with Mrs Taylor. What a fabulous experience and action packed time they had seeing and experiencing a great deal of Canberra. They will share a report with us at the next assembly.
Back this week for only a three day week with a new timetable. I hope there have not been too many changes for your child/ren. Today our Year 10 students had a moving Anzac Day Presentation from our guest. He was later present for the Anzac Day Liturgy at the end of the day which was also a fitting service of remembrance. Regardless if you have informed us or not, if your child/ren would like to support the College in the Anzac Parade and Service at Thuringowa, please ensure they are at the College at 8am ready to leave on the bus to the venue.
Enjoy your long weekend and hope to see as many of you at the Parent Teacher Interviews on Monday.
Until next Newsletter or I see you, take care.
