Last weekend we had two teams of year 7-9 student head over to Charters Towers to compete in the Charters Towers Netball Association Carnival. They played between 6 and 9 games over the two days. We entered our Junior Dragons in the 13-14 year old competition and our Hydra team in the 15 and 16 year old competition. All of the students played really well, and were very supportive of each other across the weekend. At the end of the weekend, Summer Bond from our Junior Dragons (13-14 year old) was names Most Valuable Player for her division. Our Hydra played 6 games on Saturday and 3 games on Sunday and managed to end the competition as runners up. An excellent outcome for the weekend.

A big thank you to Amanda Dutton, who didn’t just coach both teams but also helped by umpiring 10 games across the weekend. We would also like to thank Keia Lavering for coaching one of the teams when they were playing at the same time on different courts.

A big thank you to the families for supporting the students and being with us for the full weekend, even had some driving in from Townsville both days to help make this happen.
