ASSISI CAMPUS NEWS

What a fantastic Winter Carnival again this year. It proved very popular and there were heaps to interact with. A huge thank you to the P&F team that organised and ran the event. We will now wait to see how much we raised. Did anyone see Steve Price’s article in the Townsville Bulletin today about the Winter Carnival and one of our Year 8 boys? Worth a read. Thank you to all of our staff and students who were able to help out. Many hands make light work.

Last week we celebrated a cracker of a Book Week. Staff dressed according to different genres during the week and then we had the Book Week Parade at Assembly. Loads of students dressed up which was great and many different prizes were awarded. Josh Moss stole the show with three laps of the stage and he received the loudest cheer every time. This week we enjoyed Science Week. There were interactive activities every first lunch break as well as the quiz every morning with prizes up for grabs. We hope the students enjoyed these festivities as well. Stay tuned for HPE Week next week.

SET Plan Interviews were all the rage last week and there were a few more to do this week. Most, if not all should now be done and the students have until Thursday 9am to submit their preferences. Thank you to all the parents and staff who were part of this.

We were represented at the Interschool Athletics Carnival. St Anthony's secured first place in the Dan Gleeson B Schools Competition for both the boys and girls teams! Further celebration is in order for the following students who received Age Champion awards. These students were the highest scoring students for their age group over the two day competition.

14 Year Girls: Vera Brown

13 Year Boys: Max Nathan

17 Year Boys: Wyatt Richardson

Today we have a number of students competing in the Japanese Speaking Competition. I am sure we will see some results over our socials.

Our students have also had many other opportunities to extend their interests. A very keen group of students went out to the JCU Book Week Program. We hope they really enjoyed this experience. Our Year 11 Certificate of Fitness students are now First Aid trained after their course last week. Our Year 12 History students enjoyed their excursion. Meanwhile quite a few of our gaming students competed in the FUSE Cup. How much more can we pack into one fortnight.

The Board met this week and we ratified the Student Leadership Policy. Thank you to the parents and staff who gave us some feedback. We are now looking for your thoughts on the Addressing School Bullying Policy and Procedures before the next meeting on the 21 October.

Finally House Cup in 2025 was won by Benedict. Information about the House Cup Party will be coming out today for all the students in Benedict P-12.

Until next Newsletter or I see you, take care.
