CAREER DEVELOPMENT
Applications are now open for Year 12 students to apply for university courses commencing in 2026 Students will need to:
- create a QTAC Account; and
- register to access their ATAR in the ATAR Portal
Early Bird applications close on 30 September. From 1 October, a higher application fee will apply.
Applications and documentation should be submitted to QTAC by no later than 8 December.
Some courses have alternative timeframes - check QTAC for these dates.
QTAC Student Information Night
QTAC is hosting a free online information session on Wednesday 17 September 6pm - 7pm, designed for applicants wanting to study in 2026. Click here to register.
JCU Early Offer program
Applications are now open for JCU’s Early Offer program
This program provides a pathway to give students some peace of mind knowing they have a place at university next year, and is one less thing to stress about during exam time.
The offer they receive will be “conditional” – basically, this means it comes with conditions. For example, an offer might be conditional on achieving a certain ATAR or completing specific subjects.
Students considering applying for an early offer are encouraged to make an appointment to discuss with Miss Tebble. Applications close Friday 10 October 2025.

CQU launches Australian-first course in forensic psychology
Aspiring forensic psychologists across Australia can now take their first step into the fascinating field, with CQUniversity officially launching a new online short course: Introduction to Forensic Psychology.
The four-hour microcredential is the first of its kind in Australia and offers a foundational understanding of forensic psychology - ideal for students, career changers and true crime enthusiasts alike.
The course explores how psychology intersects with the criminal justice system - providing insight into the minds of offenders, victims and the professionals who work with them.
